When an Emergency Happens, Count on Us
A biohazard situation is anything that deals with cleaning up blood or any other bodily fluids/materials such as hoarding cleanup, industrial accidents, homicide/suicide cleanup, unattended death cleanup, blood/bodily fluid cleanup and communicable disease disinfection. At Major Restoration Services, we work with many different types of biohazard cleanup. It is important to know that you cannot use a regular cleaning company for a biohazard job. Our biohazard technicians have special training where they learned how to properly clean while protecting themselves in these situations. Our trauma technicians are very well trained and are very professional, working quietly and efficiently so they do not disturb the situation.

THE PROCESS
When you call Major Restoration Services for your fire emergency, residential or commercial, we will get to you within 2-hours*. Before we arrive, here are the steps you can expect us to complete to remedy your situation.
1. Initial Call
- Determine the type of biohazard assistance needed
- We will dispatch a team to you so that they can start containment and cleanup
2. Before We Start
- We will send technicians who have up-to-date training on biohazard cleanup and are properly certified
- The technicians will test every surrounding area so they can contain any infected area
- There will be three areas the technicians will use when cleaning:
1. The Control Zone is the affected areas
2. The Buffer Zone is where the technicians will put on their hazmat gear and keep any trash that comes from the Control Zone
3. The Clean Zone is where the technicians prevent cross contamination by storing any clean tools and equipment
3. Clean Up
- The actual cleaning of biohazard situations will start with our biohazard technicians taking all contaminated materials out of the control zone and disposing of them. Any personal property that cannot be cleaned will also be removed and disposed of as medical waste.
- They will then sanitize everything that can be sanitized. They use special disinfectants to get rid of any traces of disease or organic materials. They do this until the mess is no longer visible and then once more just as a precaution.
- Our technicians use air scrubbers after cleaning that to eliminate any lingering odors and to remove airborne pathogens that might have been released.

TIPS & RESOURCES
Our Commitment to You:
Biohazard calls are generally emergencies and we take them very seriously. We use our 2 hour response time for any and all biohazard calls. We always have real people answering your phone call at any time of the day or night.
Working with Insurance Companies
Major Restoration Services works directly with your insurance so that you don’t have to keep going back and forth between us and them. We will keep you in the loop of what we are doing and what the insurance is doing as well so there is no worry there!
What to do Before We Arrive
Do not do anything. If it is confined to one room please close the door and keep all windows closed. Our technicians will handle it. It isn’t worth putting yourself at risk of any blood born diseases or exposing yourself to an unknown chemical. There is just no telling what could happen in a situation.
Caring for Personal Property
We strongly discourage anyone from sorting through any belongings. Our technicians will assess the area and see how far the contamination went and from there they will clean all the belongings that are able to be cleaned. Anything that cannot be cleaned needs to be properly disposed of by OSHA’s guidelines.
Restoration Capabilities
A lot of biohazard jobs include some demolition. If any organic matter or toxic chemicals get on something like drywall or carpet it will need to be removed and will be disposed of properly. Major Restoration Services will rebuild anything we deconstruct and we will restore your structure back to its former glory.
